Nigerian Breweries Plc has launched activities to mark its 80th anniversary, with the company inviting Nigerians to share photographs and videos documenting how its brands, people and businesses have featured in their lives and communities over the years.
Under its anniversary campaign, “Together, Every Moment,” the brewing company said it would select 80 memories from submissions, with each winner receiving ₦1m alongside other prizes.
The campaign, as published by Newstellers, will be launched on October 21, 2026, is aimed at creating a national collection of photographs, videos and personal stories showing Nigerians’ experiences with the company and its brands since its incorporation in 1946.
According to Nigerian Breweries, the memories could include weddings, graduations, family gatherinsporting celebrations and other events, as well as stories involving farmers, retailers, distributors, suppliers, employees and communities that have interacted with the company over the decades.
Speaking on the campaign, the Managing Director/CEO of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Thibaut Boidin, said the anniversary would focus on the people whose experiences had formed part of the company’s history.
“An 80th anniversary can easily become a company talking about itself. That would miss the point. Long before our history was captured in corporate archives, it was being lived in Nigerian homes, businesses and communities,” Boidin said.
He said the company wanted Nigerians to tell their own stories of how its brands and operations had featured in their lives.
“We want to see the photographs, videos and memories that tell the story from their perspective – not simply ours. Because after 80 years, the most meaningful way to celebrate our history is to celebrate the people and moments that made it,” he said.
Boidin added that the 80 selected winners would each receive ₦1m, while their stories would feature in the company’s anniversary campaign through films, editorial features, social media, outdoor displays, anniversary events and its commemorative archive.
The company said participation in the National Story Collection was free and open to Nigerians at home and abroad.
Nigerians can submit their photographs and videos through the company’s anniversary platform or share them on social media using the hashtags #NigerianBreweriesAt80 and #NBAt80, while tagging the company.
Nigerian Breweries said the wider 80th anniversary programme would also feature consumer activities, films, media storytelling, cultural experiences and commemorative events celebrating its eight-decade history in Nigeria.
